Turkish company acquires full ownership of Kazakhstan's Almaty airport

29 July 2026 14:24

Turkish airport operator TAV Airports has acquired the remaining 15% stake in Almaty International Airport, securing full ownership of Kazakhstan's largest airport.

The transaction was valued at $133 million. Following the completion of the deal, TAV Airports became the sole owner of the airport, Turkish media reports.

Almaty International Airport is the country's busiest aviation hub, accounting for approximately 70% of Kazakhstan's total air traffic.

According to TAV Airports, the airport served nearly 12 million passengers in 2025, representing a 4.5% increase compared with the previous year.

The acquisition strengthens TAV Airports' presence in Central Asia and gives the Turkish holding full control over one of the region's key transport hubs.
