Turkish defence and foreign ministers to brief parliament on Iran situation
Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will deliver reports next week at plenary sessions of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye on the situation surrounding Iran.
Following their half-hour speeches, Güler and Fidan will answer lawmakers’ questions regarding the escalation around Iran and the broader Middle East, clarifying Ankara’s position on the issue, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The new working week of the Turkish parliament is set to begin on March 10.
Earlier, Türkiye’s foreign minister again commented on the Iranian ballistic missile that was intercepted near the country’s southern border, stressing that “Ankara will not fall for provocations.”
Meanwhile, the Turkish defence ministry said security measures along the eastern border with Iran have been strengthened.
