Turkish defence giant to supply South Korea with aircraft ordnance
Turkish defense industry enterprises are continuing their expansion into international markets, with South Korea being the latest addition to the industry's list of clientele.
The CEO of Turkish defence contractor ASSAN Group has confirmed their co-operation in the supply of aviation munitions to the country, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.
"In recent years, South Korea has been one of the world's leading exporters of military products [...] They have achieved very significant volumes. They sell worldwide, and now we will be selling to them. We can say that we have reached an agreement on a tender for MK-series aerial bombs. We expect the contract to be signed soon," CEO Gürcan Okumush stated.
The ASSAN GROUP is a group of companies operating in the defense and aviation industries, specializing in the production of aircraft bombs and munitions. The Ankara-based firm currently exports approximately 85% of its products to more than 200 customers in 60 countries across 6 continents. Their inventory of products include Mk-80 series general purpose bombs, newly introduced FAB/OFAB series aircraft bombs, 122mm artillery rockets, 120mm and 60mm mortars, and 155mm artillery rounds. According to the Defence Turkey publication, ASSAN is currently the only manufacturer in Türkiye with the capability to produce the entire Mk-80 series general purpose bomb family.
