Turkish defence minister hails progress in northern Iraq military operations Over 2,500 terrorists neutralised
The Turkish Minister of National Defence, Yaşar Güler, has reported significant progress in military operations conducted by Turkish Armed Forces in northern Iraq, according to a statement by the Turkish Ministry of Defence shared on X page.
Speaking at the Planning and Budget Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Güler emphasised the success of “continuous and comprehensive” operations aimed at neutralising terrorist threats at their source, Caliber.Az reports.

Millî Savunma Bakanımız Sayın Yaşar Güler, TBMM Plan ve Bütçe Komisyonu'ndaki sunumu sırasında, Türk Silahlı Kuvvetlerimizin Irak’ın kuzeyindeki başarısını şu sözlerle anlattı:

Güler stated that serious blows have been dealt to various terrorist organisations, including the PKK/KCK, PYD/YPG, and ISIS. “Since the beginning of this year, a total of 2,564 terrorists have been neutralised during our operations,” he noted.
The Defence Minister also highlighted recent achievements in Iraq’s Zap region, saying: “Thanks to the immense dedication and efforts of our heroic soldiers, the door to Zap is now firmly closed. Our activities in the region will continue with the same pace and determination.”
Türkiye’s military campaign in northern Iraq forms part of its broader strategy to address terrorist threats beyond its borders, ensuring the safety and stability of its territories.
