Turkish FM calls for sanctions against Israel over conflict with Palestine
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has urged Western countries to impose sanctions on Israel, arguing that such measures would help resolve the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Fidan's remarks highlight a call for more decisive international action, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
"Israel on the ceasefire issue will not take a step unless it pays the price. It is the US and the West that can force it to do so. There should be sanctions, restrictions, accusations," emphasized Fidan, underscoring the need for accountability and pressure from Western powers.
Fidan expressed concern that without sanctions, Israel would continue to act without restraint, exacerbating the conflict. He pointed out that, in the current phase of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, there are no effective measures in place to contribute to a resolution.
