Turkish FM calls on Muslim countries to break Gaza blockade
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated the need to urgently take measures to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip, TASS reports.
“We are expected to take immediate action regarding Gaza, even if it is unilateral. The blockade around Gaza must be broken, and it must be done now. We all know that Israel is using humanitarian aid as a weapon in this war,” CNN Turk quotes him as saying at an emergency meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that “more than 400,000 Palestinians are currently on the brink of famine.”
According to him, “civil activists and human rights organizations must be allowed to enter Gaza, taking into account the risks involved.”
“We cannot leave the people of Gaza at the mercy of Israel or the hegemonic powers. The Muslim world must develop a plan of action and increase pressure on Israel, acting collectively and unitedly,” he added.
