Turkish FM, EC Vice-President discuss EU-Türkiye relations

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry told Anadolu that Borrel congratulated Fidan on his appointment.

During the conversation, the two sides discussed the state of relations between Türkiye and the EU, as well as regional issues.

EU High Representative Borrell wrote on Twitter: "We look forward to a constructive and mutually beneficial relationship between the EU and Türkiye. Geopolitical challenges require us to cooperate closely in many areas. Stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean are very important".
