Turkish Forces neutralise over 500 terrorists in northern Syria, Iraq since January
Since the beginning of 2025, the Turkish Armed Forces have neutralised a total of 555 terrorists in northern Syria and Iraq, according to Zeki Aktürk, head of the Ministry of Defence's press office.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Zeki Aktürk, confirmed on X that, in the past week alone, 18 terrorists were neutralised during counter-terrorism operations across both regions, Caliber.Az reports.

Furthermore, significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and essential supplies were seized from terrorist hideouts during operational search activities in the Pençe-Kilit operation zone in northern Iraq.
This week also saw the detention of 209 individuals, including eight suspected members of terrorist organisations attempting to illegally cross the border. In addition, 4,043 people were prevented from crossing into Türkiye.
These efforts are part of Türkiye's ongoing fight against terrorist groups operating in the region, aimed at ensuring national security and stability.
