This operation targeted PKK sites in the regions of Metina, Zap, Gara, Hakurk, Kandil, and Asos. Ongoing assessments are being conducted in these areas. Additionally, another seven terrorists were neutralized in a separate air operation in the Hakurk region.
The Ministry emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces will persist in their efforts to eliminate the terrorist threat in the region. It is worth noting that Türkiye launched Operation Claw-Lock in 2022 to target PKK hideouts in northern Iraq’s Metina, Zap, and Avasin-Basyan regions, near the Turkish border.
The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has been responsible for over 40,000 deaths in its nearly 40-year campaign against Türkiye, including women, children, and infants.
