Turkish fugitive wanted by Interpol arrested in Batumi, Georgia

A 38-year-old Turkish citizen, wanted internationally under an Interpol Red Notice, has been detained in Batumi, Georgia, by officers of the Batumi City Division of the Adjara Police Department.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the arrest on its official website, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

Authorities reported that the individual had been sought for involvement in drug and weapons trafficking, as well as property damage. He was taken into custody in Batumi following targeted investigative operations conducted by local law enforcement.
