Turkish Hürjet achieves supersonic flight for first time VIDEO
The Hürjet, a fifth-generation combat trainer aircraft developed by Turkish aerospace firm TUSAŞ, successfully flew at supersonic speed for the first time during recent flight tests.
According to a post from SavunmaSanayiST.com on social media platform X, this milestone marks a significant advancement in the development of the Hürjet, showcasing its capabilities as a modern training aircraft for the Turkish Air Force, Caliber.Az reports.
Hürjet took off from Mürted Air Station at 9:30 am local time and landed at the same station at 10:30. Hurjet was known to fly at 0.9 Mach previously. The aircraft is designed to fly at 1.4 Mach maximum speed.
