Through the efforts of Türkiye's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), one of the founders of YRK, an Iranian structure of the PKK terrorist organization, has been neutralized in northern Iraq.
According to sources from Turkish security structures, MIT carried out a targeted operation in Sulaymaniyah, where the terrorist codenamed "Amed Serhed" and his bodyguard were neutralized, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Amed Serhed, an Iranian national, had been operating in the rural areas of Penjwen in Iraq.
The Iranian terrorist, who had carried out numerous armed actions against security forces, was temporarily assigned to Diyarbakır and Bitlis by the organization’s senior leadership before being placed on MIT’s target list.
It was revealed that the second neutralized terrorist, an Iranian named Akam Shahe, codenamed "Shivan Chiya," who had served as the bodyguard of Amed Serhed, the founder of the Eastern Kurdistan Defence Units (YRK), had previously operated in both Iran and Hakkari.
He reportedly fled to Iraq during operations carried out by Turkish security forces against the PKK/KCK and was directed to Sulaymaniyah by the organization's leadership.
