Turkish intelligence identifies thousands of FETÖ members abroad

Türkiye's National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) has identified the locations of 2,762 alleged key members of the FETÖ terrorist organisation across 119 countries, according to the Turkish newspaper Sabah.

Turkish intelligence has continued monitoring the network's international activities and has mapped out its key organisational structures worldwide. Based on the findings, Türkiye's Ministry of Justice has accelerated efforts to submit extradition requests for suspected members.

Technical and physical surveillance has also enabled authorities to identify the countries where senior members of the movement are believed to reside.

The United States hosts the largest number of high-ranking alleged members, with 42 individuals. Among European countries, Germany was said to have 12, the United Kingdom 10, and Belgium eight.

The United Kingdom and Belgium are home to several senior figures within the movement, including individuals alleged by Turkish authorities to oversee its finances, propaganda activities, and operations in Western Europe.
