The Iranian minister also described Iran and Türkiye as influential countries on various regional, international, and Islamic world issues, noting that improved relations between the two nations would also benefit defence collaboration.
Nasirzadeh, who said he came to Ankara at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, added: "This visit to Ankara will also contribute to ensuring stability and security along our shared border with Türkiye, which stretches over 500 kilometres. It is essential to strengthen defence and military relations between our two countries, and this visit is taking place precisely for that purpose."
Güler, for his part, highlighted the significance of the Iranian defence minister’s visit to Ankara, calling it a clear demonstration of the close ties between the two countries across various fields.
Speaking about the presence of terrorist groups in the region, which seek to create instability at the behest of certain governments outside the area, the Turkish defence minister emphasised his country’s readiness to cooperate in combating terrorism and ensuring regional security.
Güler stressed that just as Iran considers Türkiye’s security its own, Türkiye will also make every effort to strengthen security, particularly along their shared borders.
