Turkish minister says TANAP’s capacity to be doubled

Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez has said that a decision was made to double the annual capacity of the TANAP gas pipeline from 16 billion cubic metres to 32 billion cubic metres.

Donmez made the remarks during the 2nd Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum in Istanbul on October 6, APA reports.

According to him, this will be an important step in ensuring the energy security of Europe.

The discussions over the transit of electricity from Azerbaijan through Georgia are also on the agenda.

Donmez noted that the work on the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline has entered the final stage.
