Turkish Navy flagship sets course for Izmir

TCG Anadolu, the Turkish Navy's largest ship and the world's first aircraft carrier to carry combat drones on its deck, has set course from Istanbul for Izmir.

As the ship arrives at the destination city, it will be open for visitors, Anadolu Agency reports.

The ship, which went on standby on April 10, has been in the port of Sarayburnu in Istanbul since April 17.

During the two weeks, 140,055 residents and visitors of the Turkish metropolis visited the ship.

The landing ship will pass through Canakkale (Dardanelles) at around 16:00-19:00 local time and will be moored in Izmir on May 3.
