The detainees are accused of various roles in supporting ISIS, including financing its operations and spreading its propaganda through social media platforms. The raids, conducted by regional security directorates, represent a significant effort by Turkish authorities to curb ISIS' influence within the country.
The Turkish government has been consistently targeting ISIS-linked networks within its borders. Over the past year alone, more than 3,000 individuals have been detained on suspicion of having connections to the terrorist organization, the Interior Ministry reported.
This latest operation highlights the ongoing vigilance of Turkish security forces in the fight against ISIS, as they continue to disrupt the group's financial and propaganda operations. The authorities have vowed to maintain these efforts to ensure national security and prevent the spread of extremist ideologies.
