07 August 2026 14:04
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Saudi Arabia on a one-day working visit, where Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are expected to sign a trilateral defence agreement.
The agreement is scheduled to be signed in Mecca and will establish a framework for defence cooperation between the three countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Pakistan has been engaged in mediation efforts aimed at ending the US-Iran war, while Türkiye has played an active diplomatic role in seeking a ceasefire in Gaza.
The trilateral defence agreement will be known as the Mecca Agreement.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had previously announced in 2025 that they planned to conclude a bilateral defence agreement.
