Turkish president embarks on three-day Gulf tour PHOTO

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has begun a three-day tour of the Gulf, visiting Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman.

The trip, which started in Kuwait, aims to strengthen bilateral ties between Türkiye and Gulf states, while addressing regional developments, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.

Erdoğan was formally welcomed in Kuwait by Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in an official ceremony, marking the first stop of his Gulf visit. Following the ceremony, the two leaders held bilateral and delegation-level talks.

The second stop on Erdoğan’s tour will be Qatar, where he is scheduled to meet Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha tomorrow. Discussions are expected to cover a wide range of issues, including bilateral relations, regional affairs, and the ongoing ceasefire and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

The final leg of the tour will take Erdoğan to Oman on October 23. In the capital Muscat, he will meet Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq to discuss economic cooperation as well as broader regional developments.

The tour is also expected to focus on deepening collaboration in defence, energy, and investment. Officials have indicated that new agreements may be signed to further strengthen bilateral relations.
