Turkish president expected to arrive in Ethiopia for official talks
President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to pay an official visit to Ethiopia today at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, with bilateral relations and key regional and global issues expected to dominate the agenda, Turkish media reported.
Erdogan is scheduled to arrive in Addis Ababa at approximately 14:00. His program will begin with a visit to the Adwa Memorial, after which he will proceed to the National Palace for talks with Abiy Ahmed.
The leaders will first meet in a one-on-one format before holding expanded negotiations with their respective delegations.
Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between the two countries, developments in the Horn of Africa, and the outcomes of the agreement signed in Ankara between Ethiopia and Somalia. Following the talks, several documents are planned to be signed, and the leaders will hold a joint press conference.
The visit will conclude with an official dinner, after which Erdogan is expected to return to Türkiye.
