Turkish president may visit Egypt soon
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may visit Egypt in the near future.
Speaking to reporters on his plane returning from a trip to Algeria, he said: "I may arrange a trip to Egypt,” TRT Haber reports.
Erdogan underlined that the Egyptian administration is taking positive steps at the Rafah Border Gate. In the first stage, 40 of the cancer patients in Gaza came to Türkiye.
In the second stage, this number increased significantly and reached 88 patients and 67 companions.
“We treat them in our city hospitals, and we will continue to do so. We want patients from Gaza to be removed from there and brought to our country increasingly. I can organise a trip to Egypt as soon as possible. These issues will be our main agenda in Egypt,” the Turkish president stressed.
“What steps can we take, how can we pave the way for the evacuation of patients? We will talk about these. We want to bring all of these patients as soon as possible. In fact, my wish is that we remove those that require surgical intervention as soon as possible. Especially, let's take the children as soon as possible and perform medical interventions. We are in agreement with our friends on this issue and hopefully, we will manage the process in this way,” he added.
