Türkish president reaffirms Ankara's commitment to strengthening OTS

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to strengthening the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) and advancing the decisions adopted at the bloc's informal summit in Turkistan in May.

During a phone call with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Turkish leader said the OTS leaders' summit, scheduled to take place in Ankara on October 29–30, would provide an opportunity to further advance joint initiatives, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The two presidents discussed the current state and prospects of Türkiye-Uzbekistan relations, as well as regional and global issues.

Erdoğan welcomed the deepening dialogue between Ankara and Tashkent and recalled that a new bilateral roadmap was adopted following the Turkey-Uzbekistan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting in January.

He expressed hope that the positive momentum in bilateral ties would continue through meetings planned during his upcoming visit to Uzbekistan.

Erdoğan also invited Mirziyoyev to attend the COP31 climate conference, scheduled to be held in Antalya on November 11–12, and congratulated the Uzbek president on his birthday.
