Turkish president reaffirms commitment to Gaza, regional peace, ethnic unity

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reiterated Türkiye’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to peace and stability across the Middle East, with particular focus on Gaza, Syria, and the broader region.

Speaking during a commemorative event marking the 954th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert in Türkiye’s Muş province, Erdoğan underscored Ankara’s active role in defending Palestinian rights amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

The Turkish president also reiterated Ankara’s support for the Palestinian cause on all platforms, saying: “We never leave our Gazan brothers alone against Israel’s heinous oppression.”

“Through letter diplomacy, phone calls, international meetings, and aid exceeding 102,000 tons, we are defending Gaza’s rights and justice in the strongest possible way,” he said.

“Regardless of what others say, we are taking the stance that befits us and our nation, without bowing, bending, or fearing anyone,” the president added.

Turning to the ongoing conflict in Syria, Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s role as a guarantor of security and well-being for all ethnic communities within its war-torn neighbor.

“Türkiye is the guarantor of the security, peace, and well-being of Kurds, like all brotherly peoples in Syria,” he stated.

“Those who turn to Ankara and Damascus will prevail,” he added, highlighting the need for constructive engagement in addressing regional challenges.

Outlining his vision for the future, Erdoğan said the “Century of Türkiye” initiative would pave the way for a “great and powerful terror-free Türkiye,” followed by a terror-free region, achieved through collective unity.
