Turkish president to inaugurate new terminals at Antalya Airport

06 April 2025 16:08

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will officially open new domestic and international terminals at Antalya Airport on April 12, marking a major expansion of one of Türkiye’s busiest air hubs.

The new terminals will more than double the airport’s size and significantly increase its passenger handling capacity, Caliber.Az reports, citing Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport.

Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that the area of the international terminal will expand from 90,100 square meters to 224,000 square meters, while the domestic terminal will grow from 36,800 square meters to 75,000 square meters. As a result, the airport’s annual capacity is expected to rise to 82 million passengers—up from an average of 35 million currently.

"The number of aircraft parking stands will also increase from 108 to 176. The existing VIP terminal has been enlarged from 690 square meters to 2,000. A government guesthouse covering 2,000 square meters will be inaugurated on the airport grounds, and various airport service areas have undergone significant expansion," Uraloglu added.

In 2024, Antalya Airport handled 39.2 million passengers. "By the end of 2024, we served 45,351 flights and 6.2 million passengers on domestic routes, along with 188,700 flights and 32.9 million passengers on international routes," the minister noted.
