LUMTAS-GM (UMTAS-GM-Block-1) has a range of 16+ kilometers. The LUMTAS missile currently in use has a range of 8 kilometers.
UMTAS-GM-Block-1 can reach a flight speed of Mach 0.3-0.7 and can be launched day and night, equipped with tandem anti-tank, fragmentation, and thermobaric warheads. Depending on the warhead type, the missiles can be used against armored targets, light pillboxes, buildings, and low-flying helicopters.
The system can be used in combination with an infrared seeker (IIR) or a semi-active laser seeker (YAL), meaning LUMTAS-GM can achieve ranges of 1 to 16 kilometers when launched from ground vehicles and 1 to 20+ kilometers when launched from helicopters.
The real game changer will be the UMTAS-GM Block-2 in the design phase, a heavier missile with a hybrid booster head and twice the range of the UMTAS-GM-Block-1.
With its new rocket motor and high planning characteristics, UMTAS-GM-Block-2 can achieve a range of 1 to 32+ kilometers when launched from ground vehicles and 1 to 50+ kilometers when launched from helicopters. Thus, targets can be destroyed from safe distances without entering the enemy's firing zone.
In fact, it can be said that the UMTAS-GM Block-2 will be the equivalent of the famous Israeli Spike-NLOS missile.
