Turkish, Spanish foreign ministers discuss “Sumud Flotilla” interception in phone call

The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Spain, Hakan Fidan and José Manuel Albares, have held a telephone conversation to discuss the interception of the “Global Sumud Flotilla,” according to TRT Haber.

The report said the two ministers addressed Israel’s actions against the flotilla in international waters.

Both sides reportedly expressed concern over operations that “may pose a danger to civilians” and stressed the need for the international community to develop a coordinated response to such incidents, which they described as unlawful.

Earlier on April 30, reports said Israeli forces intercepted a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid bound for the Gaza Strip in international waters near Crete.
