Turkish, Ukrainian officials discuss prisoner exchange, defence partnership

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met in Ankara with Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on November 12, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media sources.

The ministry did not disclose details of the meeting between the two officials.

Earlier, Umerov said on his Telegram channel that during his visit to Türkiye, he also held meetings with Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, Head of the National Intelligence Organisation İbrahim Kalın, and Chief Advisor to the Turkish President on Foreign Policy and Security Affairs Akif Çağatay Kılıç.

According to Umerov, the discussions focused on two key topics — the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia, and the strengthening of security and defence cooperation between Kyiv and Ankara.
