Turkish unmanned vessel MARLIN successfully participates in NATO drills

Türkiye's MARLIN, the world's only unmanned military vessel with electronic warfare (EW) function, has demonstrated high efficiency at NATO exercises in Portugal.

According to Anadolu Agency, the project to develop the unmanned military vessel was implemented through the efforts of Türkiye's defence industry flagship ASELSAN and Sefine Shipyard. The work was carried out in Yalova province in coordination with the Turkish Defence Industry Authority.

The first phase of REPMUS 2022 involved around 100 unmanned aerial, surface, and ground vehicles on the Troja Peninsula in Portugal.

The second phase of the exercise, dubbed Dynamic Messenger 2022, is being held on September 25-30 and involves more than 18 ships and 48 drones from 16 NATO countries, testing manned and unmanned combat vehicles at sea.

The MARLIN is the first Turkish drone to participate in a NATO exercise. The boat gets its name from a species of fish that can move very quickly in the open sea.

The MARLIN differs from its competitors by its superior technical characteristics and payload features.

In addition, the MARLIN is the world's only unmanned military vessel with electronic warfare capabilities.
