Türkiye: 240 kilograms of drugs seized in Van operation, five suspects detained

Authorities in Türkiye have seized 240 kilograms of illicit drugs and detained five suspects in a coordinated anti-narcotics operation in the eastern province of Van.

The General Directorate of Security’s Anti-Narcotics Department and the local Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office coordinated the operation, and the Van Provincial Police Department’s Anti-Narcotics and Intelligence units carried it out against drug trafficking networks, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

In total, five individuals were detained, including four foreign nationals.

Police said the seizures included 94.82 kilograms of methamphetamine, 79.1 kilograms of skunk, and 66.6 kilograms of powdered cannabis, bringing the total to 240.52 kilograms of narcotics confiscated during the raids.
