Of those detained, 33 individuals were formally arrested, five were placed under judicial supervision, and legal proceedings are ongoing for the remainder.
He said the individuals were wanted for crimes related to their activities within the "active structure" of the FETÖ terrorist organisation. Allegations include maintaining contact with key members of the group via payphones, financing the organisation, and spreading FETÖ propaganda through social media accounts.
FETÖ, officially designated as a terrorist organisation by Türkiye, is held responsible for orchestrating the failed coup attempt of July 15, 2016. The government has since conducted continuous operations to dismantle the organisation’s remaining networks within the country and abroad.
