Türkiye announces one-day mourning in connection with death of Iran's president

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that one-day nationwide mourning has been declared in Türkiye over the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a plane crash.

Erdogan made the remarks in an address to the nation after the Cabinet meeting, which was held under his chairmanship on May 20 and broadcast by TRT Haber TV channel.

"In connection with the death of the Iranian president, we have decided to declare one-day mourning in our country to share the deep sorrow with the Iranian people," Erdogan said.
