Türkiye begins construction work on Zangezur Corridor road

Türkiye has started construction work on a key section of the Zangezur Corridor, according to Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.

Uraloglu told APA that repair work on the 224-kilometre stretch on the Turkish side of the corridor has already begun. Meanwhile, construction on the Azerbaijani side is nearing completion.

“One contract has been signed for the Zangezur Corridor, but construction has not yet started. I believe it will begin in the near future without significant delays. On the Nakhchivan side, there is a 180-kilometre section: part will be repaired, part will be rebuilt. Construction on the 224-kilometre section on our side has already started,” the minister noted.
