Türkiye boosts anti-tank missiles production PHOTO

Türkiye has decided to double the production of anti-tank missiles.

Anti-tank missiles UMTAS, L-UMTAS and OMTAS, developed by Roketsan, are actively used by both the Turkish Armed Forces and friendly countries. In connection with the constantly growing needs and to quickly meet the needs, it was decided to approximately double the capacity of the infrastructure for the production of anti-tank missiles.

In this context, work has begun on the creation of a new facility at Roketsan, which will approximately double the capacity of the mass production infrastructure. On the other hand, in addition to anti-tank missiles, it was decided to increase the production capacity of MAM-L, MAM-T and MAM-C ammunition used by UAVs.

Currently, Turkish security forces and approximately 40 countries exporting Turkish UAVs prefer the MAM series ammunition, which has become the strike force of UAVs.

On the other hand, Roketsan continues its efforts to develop new MAM-L and MAM-T configurations with different seeker heads such as IIR MAM-L, IIR MAM-T and TV/IIR MAM-T. MAM-L/C ammunition is used by the ANKA, AKINCI, AKSUNGUR and Bayraktar TB2 platforms, and MAM-T is used by the AKINCI and AKSUNGUR platforms.

As well, the Bayraktar TB3, which will soon make its first flight, will also use MAM series ammunition.

The advantages of the MAM-T ammunition developed by Roketsan are as follows:

The ammunition will take on the role of an “intermediate platform” in a range between the MAM-L and the winged bomb guidance kit (KGK).

The use of MAM-L ammunition in places where it is insufficient in effectiveness will provide both complete neutralization of targets and cost savings.

Since it is a long-range munition focused on price/performance ratio, it will have a positive impact on UAV operating concepts.

A long-range, low-cost and lightweight ammunition option is offered for the HÜRKUŞ, HÜRJET and F-16 airborne platforms.
