Türkiye calls for regional dialogue platform to curb Middle East escalation
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for the creation of a regional dialogue platform to help contain rising tensions in the Middle East amid the ongoing US-Israeli military operations against Iran and Iran’s counter-escalation.
The proposal was made during a press briefing following an informal meeting of the Organisation of Turkic States foreign ministers, with Fidan stating, “Türkiye proposes launching a regional dialogue platform to address rising conflicts and support stability in the region,” Caliber.Az reports via Syrian media.
Fidan emphasised that his country is intensifying diplomatic efforts to halt the conflict, warning that US-Israeli strikes on Iran increase the risk of regional destabilisation, threaten global energy security, and could create openings for terrorist groups to expand.
He stressed that dialogue and diplomatic measures remain the only way to prevent the conflict from spreading further.
