According to the minister, prior to the operation Turkish law enforcement exchanged intelligence and documents with police agencies in the Netherlands, Iran, Estonia, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Panama, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Bulgaria.
The investigation identified five international criminal networks involved in establishing organised groups, trafficking narcotics, and laundering proceeds of crime.
Authorities determined that the suspects were linked to 18 tonnes 129 kilograms of narcotic and stimulant substances and 1 million 290 thousand stimulant tablets seized in Türkiye and abroad.
Yerlikaya added that the operation targeted senior figures of these networks, including alleged ringleaders F.K., A.M.G. and V.G.
Financial investigations carried out by MASAK resulted in the seizure of assets worth approximately 15 billion lira, including 647 real-estate properties, 186 vehicles, one holding company, 113 firms, a dry-cargo ship and bank accounts belonging to the suspects.
