Türkiye continues intensive fight against forest fires PHOTO
Türkiye remains fully mobilised in its ongoing battle against widespread forest fires. Government authorities have deployed extensive resources to contain and extinguish the blazes, with coordinated efforts both on the ground and from the air.
A fire that erupted two days ago in the forested area of the Yakuplar neighbourhood in Bursa’s Orhaneli district has been successfully extinguished, thanks to the diligent work of rescue teams. In total, 11 aircraft, 971 ground vehicles, and 2,684 personnel participated in controlling two forest fires in the city, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Meanwhile, firefighting operations are actively underway in the Safranbolu district of Karabük, where a fire broke out near the village of Çavuşlar.
Simultaneously, air and ground teams continue their efforts to combat a forest fire that started two days ago in Kahramanmaraş’s Onikişubat district.
Non-governmental organisations, including the Turkish Red Crescent, have joined the response by providing food and water support to firefighting personnel. Current resources deployed include 6 helicopters, 56 water trucks, 15 first response vehicles, 30 water supply vehicles, 78 construction machines, 32 all-terrain vehicles, and 611 personnel engaged in the firefighting operations.
Authorities remain vigilant as the battle against the forest fires continues across affected regions.
