Türkiye detains 19 in major operation against ISIS network

Turkish police have detained 19 people in the southern province of Adana as part of a large-scale operation targeting the Islamic State (ISIS).

The raids followed a ten-month investigation into two groups suspected of maintaining ties with the terrorist organisation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

Security forces carried out coordinated searches across 25 locations on October 21, seizing an unlicensed pistol, a pump-action shotgun, 18 rounds of ammunition, flags and materials bearing ISIS insignia, as well as banned publications.

Authorities said some of the suspects are believed to have been involved in assaults, intimidation, and threats carried out on behalf of ISIS.

The investigation remains ongoing.
