Türkiye detains 20 suspects in FETÖ clandestine police operation
Turkish authorities have detained 20 suspects in an operation targeting the clandestine police structure of FETÖ, with simultaneous raids carried out at 21 addresses across six provinces and coordinated from Istanbul.
The operation was conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, TRT Haber reports.
Investigators identified the suspects using data found on an SD card obtained from a secret witness operating under the code name “Garson.”
According to the investigation, the suspects had maintained contact with members of FETÖ’s clandestine cells, held accounts at Bank Asya or recorded increases in funds held there, and appeared in records of sequential telephone calls.
Investigators believe the suspects occupied leadership positions within FETÖ’s clandestine police structure.
Those detained include five serving public officials, three former public officials and 12 employees of private-sector companies.
