Türkiye detains 26 in Istanbul over PKK/KCK propaganda
In Istanbul, Turkish authorities have detained 26 individuals in connection with distributing propaganda for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party/Kurdistan Communities Union (PKK/KCK) during the Nowruz celebrations.
The operation was carried out by intelligence and counter-terrorism units under the direction of Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MIT). Raids were conducted at multiple locations linked to the suspects, leading to the seizure of non-lethal firearms, flags associated with the organisation, and digital media materials, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
All 26 individuals were taken into custody and transported to police stations for further investigation. Turkish authorities have emphasised that the operation targeted efforts to spread extremist propaganda during the public holiday.
