Türkiye detains 70 suspected ISIS members in nationwide raids

Türkiye’s Interior Ministry said that 70 suspects were detained in nationwide operations targeting the Islamic State group across 26 provinces.

In a statement, the ministry said the operations were carried out by the Gendarmerie General Command in coordination with counter-terrorism units and public prosecutors, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

It said the suspects were identified as members of the group or linked to it, and were involved in providing financial support through affiliated structures as well as disseminating propaganda on social media.

Judicial investigations into the suspects are ongoing, the ministry added.
