Türkiye detains interpol-wanted ISIS member
13 July 2026 14:16
Türkiye's National Intelligence Organisation (MİT) has conducted a cross-border operation resulting in the capture and transfer to Türkiye of Talip Güler, also known by the codename Abdussalam Turki.
Güler was wanted by Interpol under a yellow notice, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Turkish intelligence said he was a member of the so-called Faruk Office, a structure within the ISIS terrorist organisation responsible for coordinating the group's activities in Türkiye.
The investigation found that Güler illegally crossed into Syria in January 2014, where he continued operating within ISIS while maintaining contacts with the group's leadership.
