Türkiye detains six more in university flag desecration probe

Six additional people have been arrested as part of an investigation into incidents that occurred during a concert at the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) campus on May 6.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office had previously launched proceedings against 21 suspects on charges including “insulting symbols of state sovereignty,” “intentional damage,” “threats,” and “insults” related to incidents recorded during a spring festival concert, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

Six individuals detained by Ankara police were formally arrested, while seven others were placed under judicial control measures. Earlier in the same case, six suspects had already been brought before the court, two of whom were also arrested.

According to investigators, two additional suspects remain at large as the investigation continues.
