Türkiye dismantles 181 organised crime groups in 100 days

A total of 181 organised crime groups have been dismantled in Türkiye over the past 100 days, with nearly 50,000 security operations carried out since 11 February 2026, according to official figures from the Ministry of Interior.

Data showed that operations covered counter-terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime, smuggling and organised crime, among others, Caliber.Az reported, citing Turkish media.

In total, 49,662 operations were conducted during the reporting period, including 14,452 targeting drug trafficking, 13,709 against terrorist organisations, 12,658 against smuggling, as well as operations focused on financial crimes, cybercrime, illegal migration and organised criminal networks.

In the fight against drugs, authorities carried out 14,452 operations, detaining 24,489 people, of whom 11,891 were arrested. Authorities also seized 13.6 tonnes of narcotics and 38.3 million tablets, while preventive measures reached more than 2.2 million people.

In smuggling and illicit goods operations, 852,000 litres of fuel, 245,000 litres of counterfeit alcohol, more than 5.3 million packs of cigarettes, as well as hundreds of thousands of electronic cigarettes and cigarette cartridges were seized.

Cybercrime operations included 1,946 raids, with more than 78,000 accounts inspected. A total of 7,672 people were detained, and 3,715 were arrested. Tens of thousands of websites and accounts were blocked, including illegal gambling and fraud platforms.

In operations targeting organised crime, 181 criminal groups were dismantled, with 4,295 people detained and 2,104 arrested.

The Interior Ministry also announced a series of reforms, including strengthened border controls, changes to police working schedules, legislative updates, modernisation of traffic enforcement and digital public services, and the launch of an anti-fraud programme called DOLUNAY.
