Türkiye does not condone possible violence against Iran

Türkiye does not support any potential use of violence against Iran, the country’s foreign minister said on January 15.

“Türkiye does not condone the possibility of the use of violence against Iran,” Hakan Fidan told reporters, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media. 

He added that Ankara would continue diplomatic initiatives regarding Iran, emphasising that the priority was to avoid destabilisation.

The remarks come amid heightened international attention on Iran, where thousands have reportedly been killed in a sweeping crackdown on protests against clerical rule. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened intervention in support of demonstrators.
