The delivery was achieved through collaboration between ASFAT and TÜBİTAK SAGE.
The HGK-84 guidance kit enhances precision targeting capabilities by enabling strikes on ground targets through laser guidance or pre-determined coordinates. The upgrade package includes inertial and satellite navigation systems, significantly improving the accuracy and versatility of airstrike missions.
Note that, initiated on February 3, 2023, the project involves providing upgraded HGK-84A guidance kits. The kits transform unguided MK-84 general-purpose and penetrator bombs into precision-guided munitions. Equipped with inertial and satellite navigation systems, they achieve a strike accuracy of less than 10 metres from 15 nautical miles, or under 3 metres with laser guidance.
Final assembly, production, and testing were conducted at the 3rd Air Maintenance Factory Directorate in Ankara. Acceptance tests during initial deliveries achieved a 100% success rate, underscoring the effectiveness of Türkiye's domestically developed defence technologies.
