Türkiye evacuates over 1,100 as wildfire sweeps through Muğla PHOTO
More than 1,100 people have been evacuated as emergency crews continue battling a major wildfire in Türkiye's southwestern Muğla province, authorities said.
A hotel and a holiday resort were evacuated as a precaution after the fire threatened the area, according to Turkish media.
Around 1,120 people have been moved to safer locations, while enhanced safety measures remain in force across the region.
The wildfire is one of six forest fires that broke out in Muğla province on July 14. Officials say five of the blazes have since been brought under control, with firefighting efforts continuing at the remaining site.
Gendarmerie units have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the fire. No immediate reports of casualties have been released.
