Türkiye expects Ukraine peace talks to resume by end of 2026

Türkiye hopes negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict will resume by the end of 2026 and is prepared to quickly host a new round of talks in Istanbul, a Turkish government source told RIA Novosti.

“Ankara remains hopeful that contacts will resume and is ready to support diplomatic efforts on this issue. We expect the negotiation process on Ukraine to resume by the end of the year,” the source said.

The Turkish government is also prepared to provide the necessary conditions for negotiations in Istanbul, including security arrangements, according to the source.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said Türkiye and several other countries had expressed readiness to provide venues for trilateral talks on a settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
