Türkiye, Germany strengthen military partnership through top-level talks
In a demonstration of growing defence cooperation between Türkiye and Germany, Turkish National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler welcomed German Chief of Defence, General Carsten Breuer, in Ankara. The visit, which included high-level meetings and a tour of defence tech giant ASELSAN, focused on enhancing military ties and exploring opportunities for international collaboration in defence innovation.
General Breuer arrived in the Turkish capital at the invitation of General Metin Gürak, Chief of the Turkish General Staff, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance military cooperation between Türkiye and Germany, Caliber.Az reports via a statement from the Turkish Ministry of National Defence.

As part of his official program, General Breuer also visited ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s foremost defence technology companies. The visit aimed to showcase Türkiye's advancements in defence innovation and explore potential areas for international collaboration.

“We were delighted to receive the Chief of the German Defence, General Carsten Breuer, at ASELSAN,” said CEO Ahmet Akyol. “We informed him about our projects open for international cooperation in the field of defence technology. As ASELSAN, we will continue to contribute to security on a global scale by developing game-changing technologies.”
The visit reflects a broader commitment by both nations to strengthen dialogue on defence matters and identify shared priorities in an increasingly complex security environment.
