Türkiye intelligence uncovers foreign spy network
Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) has uncovered a network of nine individuals working for foreign intelligence services, according to a report by TRT Haber.
Operations carried out across four provinces resulted in the detention of seven suspects, including the leader of the network, while two others were already in prison on separate charges.
Authorities determined that members of the espionage network had been collecting confidential information on non-governmental organisations, foundations, ethnic groups, and public officials in Türkiye and transmitting it to foreign intelligence services.
The operation not only revealed the identities of those involved but also exposed the structure of the foreign intelligence network operating in Türkiye, including its communication protocols and strategic objectives.
According to the report, information obtained during the operation enabled MIT to strengthen national security and conduct a detailed analysis of the operational methods used by foreign intelligence services.
