Türkiye issues storm warning for Sea of Marmara

Türkiye's General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a storm warning for the Sea of Marmara, with strong northerly and north-easterly winds expected to develop from Saturday evening, September 26.

According to TRT Haber, winds are forecast to reach 6-8 on the Beaufort scale, while gusts could range from 50 to 75 km/h.

The weather conditions could disrupt ferry and other maritime services linking Istanbul, Bursa, Yalova and other coastal areas, with cancellations also possible.

Forecasters expect the storm to persist through the night before easing by Sunday morning.

Authorities have advised sailors, owners of fishing vessels and people living in coastal areas to exercise caution as conditions deteriorate.
